In the main event of Boxeo Boricua, unbeaten featherweight Wilfredo Bones proved that he has what it takes to have a successful career as a fighter. Bones came back from a first round knockdown with solid jabs and hard straight hands to get the victory over Francisco Rodríguez, who was TKO’d at 2:35 of the third round.
“It was a tough fight. My opponent was really strong, but I covered myself well and pressured him a lot,” said Bones, who just summoned a new victory to his resume that now is at 9-0, 9 KOs. Even though Bones assured he feels ready to go after his first regional title, he also emphasized he has no rush. The featherweight prospect explained that he’s in a phase where he wants to learn and get in better shape after each fight in order to develop a solid career.
