Fans Judge Battle In The Ballroom!

Continuing to create new and novel promotions to involve the fight fans, Battle In The Ballroom promoter Roy Englebrecht announced today, that fans attending all future Irvine Marriott Battle In The Ballroom boxing and mixed martial arts shows will have a chance to judge the winner of each bout, and that the winning fighter as selected by the fans will receive a cash bonus right on the spot. Here’s how this “Fans Be The Judge” promotion will work. Immediately following the end of each bout that goes the distance, and while the official scorecards are being tabulated, the ring announcer will go to each corner and will ask all fans in attendance to vote by their applause and cheers who they think won the bout. The fighter that gets the biggest cheer is immediately presented with a $100 bill paid right in their corner. Following the awarding of the $100 to the “Fans Be The Judge” winner, the scorecards will be read and the official winner announced.

“I have always felt that any successful fight business, or for that matter any business must involve the fans,” said Englebrecht. “That is why the $1,000 Knockout Promotion has been so successful for us over the years. Now we’re going to add a new wrinkle to the Battle In The Ballroom experience by giving the fans a voice in the judging of each bout, plus provide a reward for each fighter who is announced as “the fans favorite”. I believe that the fans will take more interest in each fight, and the fighters will battle a little harder, just what we want at each show.”

“Fans Be The Judge” will kick off on Thursday, June 11th at the Irvine Marriott, which will feature three heavyweight bouts on the five bout card. Tickets are on sale at
