6’8 265lb heavyweight Tye Fields (42-2, 38 KOs) knocked out Nicolai Firtha in the sixth round to claim the NABF heavyweight belt on Saturday night at the River Cree Resort and Casino in Enoch, Alberta, Canada. It was a left to the head that brought down Firtha at the :43 mark. It was a successful comeback for Fields, who now lives in nearby Edmonton, who was fighting for the first time since losing in shocking fashion in the first round to Monte Barrett one year ago in Las Vegas. Earlier, heavyweight Jason Gavern (18-5-3, 8 KOs) outpointed Cisse Salif (23-15-2, 21 KOs) in an eight-rounder. The once-promising Salif has now lost seven out of eight.
