Top featherweight prospect Robert Rodriguez (7-1) flew in from Colorado to Orange County to meet opponent Juan Sandoval (6-10) in what should have been an easy night’s work on Thursday’s Fight Club OC show.
But someone forgot to tell Sandoval, as the San Bernardino fighter thrilled a sold out Hangar crowd of 1,317 destroying Rodriguez with a brutal right hook that sent Rodriguez to the canvas at :43 seconds of the third round. Rodriguez tried to get up, but lost his balance and fell into the ropes, with the end waved off by referee Tom Taylor.
