“Fights at the Fitz” returns this Saturday

Brian Young of Prize Fight Promotions and the fan favorite series “Fights at the Fitz” returns this Saturday to Fitzgerald’s Casino in Tunica, Mississippi with a main event featuring undefeated jr welterweight Keandre Gibson (7-0-1, 3 KOs) from St. Louis, MO battling Boyd Henley (10-1-1, 9 KOs) out of Kansas City, MO. “This fight is a classic matchup between a really skilled boxer in Gibson and Henley who is just a pure puncher with devastating power,” stated Russ Young of Prize Fight. “This fight will have the audience standing all night.”

The undercard features local fighter Marketa Mamiaro (2-0) from Southaven, MS against seasoned veteran Kim Colbert (4-4. 2 KOs) from Atlanta in jr welterweight four rounder.

Also seeing action are jr welterweight Joey Bryant (3-0, 2 KOs) from Memphis facing John Willoughby, a veteran of 19 fights plus MMA fighter Jamie Houston from Olive Branch making his professional boxing debut against Michael Ward (3-3, 2 KOs) from Fort Smith, AR

In a special showcase bout, Tony Mack (3-0, 2 KOs) from Plano, TX – who was a 2012 Olympic Trials Qualifier – will battle Demetrius Walker (6-0-1, 4 KOs) in a six round super middleweight bout.

The “Fights at the Fitz” series is entering its ninth year, making it the second longest running casino boxing series in the sports history.

Doors open at 6:30p with the first bell at 7:30p. Tickets are $35 for General Admission or $45 Ringside and can be purchased at Ticketmaster or at the Fitzgerald’s box office (662- 363-5825).
