Findley TKOs Jimenez in Hammond, IN

By Sam Geraci at ringside

In the main event of Hitz Boxing’s “Fight Night at the Horseshoe,” Mike “Hollywood” Jimenez (11-1, KOs) of Chicago, IL, came up short in his quest to establish himself as a contender against Derrick “Superman” Findley (21-11-1, 9 KOs) of Gary, IN, one of the sport’s true gatekeepers. Findley dropped Jimenez in the third with a dynamic overhand right, and although Jimenez rose to his feet, he was never able to fully recover. The fight was ultimately stopped when Jimenez’ corner wisely threw in the towel at 51 seconds of the seventh.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
