The son of a legend will be in action for “November 2 Remember” a boxing and MMA event set to take place November 14, 2009 at the Youth Center in Cut Off, Louisiana. Heavyweight George “Monk” Foreman (3-0, 3 KOs) will be in a featured 4 round boxing match. The main event will feature local light heavyweight Justin “Ironman” Verdin (8-0, 6 KOs), the current Louisiana State Champion, taking on a stiff challenge in Gulfport, Mississippi native Gevonte Davis (4-4). Both boxers are coming off of career best wins, Verdin against Larry Pryor and Davis against unbeaten Anthony Doughty.
The announcement of George Foreman being added to the card has created a buzz around the bayou. It is true unbeaten George “Monk” Foreman will be in action in a four round bout on this “November 2 Remember” event and in his corner will be his father, boxing legend, “Big” George Foreman. So, to answer the question that has been asked hundreds of times, YES George Foreman will be in Cut Off.
Also in a featured under card bout will be the hottest welterweight prospect in the state of Louisiana, John “Renegade” Revish (10-1-1). Revish, who trains with famed Gold medal winner Kennedy McKinney in Golden Meadow, Louisiana will be in action in a 6 round bout.
The undercard will feature Golden Meadow native Thomas “Cajun Arturo Gatti” Dardar (8-1), unbeaten cruiserweight Jesse Patin (2-0) of Lafayette and the professional debut of Lanny Dardar.
