George Foreman III, son of legendary heavyweight champion George Foreman, suffered an undisclosed injury during training last week and has been forced to withdraw from his third pro fight which was scheduled for this Thursday at the San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino in Highland, CA. Foreman will still be at ringside to sign autographs and pose for photos with the fans attendance. The new main event features Rhonda Luna (15-1-1, 2 KOs) defending her San Manuel featherweight championship title against Gloria Ramirez (10-15-6, 1 KOs).
In the co-main event, veteran Lionel Butler (31-15-1, 25 KOs) battles undefeated Fred Kassi (12-0, 6 KOs) for the heavyweight San Manuel Championship Belt. Although Butler is making a return to the ring after eight years, he has fought several former heavyweight champions and contenders, including Lennox Lewis, Tony Tubbs, Michael Grant and Chris Byrd. Coincidentally, Kassi is also making a return to ring but only after a two-year absence.
Five more bouts are scheduled.
The card is promoted by Roy Englebrecht Events and tickets are still available at the box office. The doors open at 6:30 pm and the first bout is at 7:30 pm. Please note that a 21-and-older age requirement to enter the casino and/or see the show is strictly enforced.
