Tonight at the New Mexico State University’s Pan American Center in Las Cruces, N.M.: Picking up his second win, George “Monk” Foreman III (2-0, 2 KOs), son of the heavyweight legend of the same name, TKO’d unwon George Burrage (0-6) at 1:10 of round two. The four-round heavyweight bout headlined a six bout card promoted by Powerhouse Promotions. In the co-main, unbeaten Las Cruces jr. welter Austin Trout (19-0, 13 KOs) pitched a shutout decision over unretired journeyman Marcos Primera (20-18-2, 13 KOs). Other results: standout amateur champion Jennifer Han (0-1) was unsuccessful in her pro debut, losing a majority decision to upset-minded Melissa St. Vil (1-1-1), with scores of 38-38 and 40-36 twice; El Paso jr. middleweight Abie Han (7-0, 6 KOs) beat up Juarez’s Sergio Santana (0-2-1), winning by TKO when Santana’s corner threw up the sponge between the second and third rounds; jr. featherweight Salvador Sanchez (15-3-2, 7 KOs), nephew to the legendary featherweight of the same name, KO’d San Diego’s Benito Abraham (10-16-4, 6 KOs) at 1:14 of round four; and, in a six-round heavyweight bout, Charles Davis (18-17-1, 4 KOs) scored the upset over Arron Lyons (9-6, 7 KOs), with scores of 59-55 twice and 60-54.
