Frederick wins war in Tampa!

By Christopher Cook

Dillet Frederick (7-3-3, 4 KOs) won a crowd pleasing battle over formerly undefeated Raymond Chalres. Frederick, who started out his career in fine fashion 5-0-2, has hit a hard streak since, but seemingly put that behind him this night. Charles, now 12-1-2, 5 KOs, came in the favorite, looking to use this bout to place himself closer in line for a title shot. A tough test turned into a showcase of Dillet’s talent and skill, as he overcame the brawler, dropping Charles twice in the second and once in the third, winning via stoppage in the third round. Frederick, who came up with the likes of contender and fellow Florida native Edner “Cherry Bomb” Cherry, looks to set his career straight with a victory like this. On the undercard, Adam Jaco (8-3-1, 3 KOs) knocked out the overmatched Robbie Tovar (15-6-1, 5 KOs), winning by easily TKO. One Punch Productions returns on September 17 with the next installment of Ballroom Brawl at the Doubletree in Tampa, Florida.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
