Zanfer Promotions, arguably the largest and most successful promotional company in Latin America, will present a last minute fight card tonight, Friday, June 14th, at the Tecate Box Tour tent set up in the parking lot of the historic Caliente race track in the heart of Tijuana, Mexico. The intimate tent holds close to about a thousand fight fans and it can be expected that tonight it will be filled to the rafters with the free fight card featuring a number of local up and comers and beginners.
In the six round super bantamweight main event, Tijuana’s Luis “Panterita” Nery (6-0, 3KOs) will look to keep his unbeaten intact as he faces fellow undefeated Rafael Alvarado (2-0) of Ensenada. Nery, one of the most promising newcomers to the Tijuana fight scene, has stopped his last two and is looking to make Alvarado his third straight.
Also featured in a series of four rounders are bantamweight Jose “Gallito” Quirino Jr. (3-0, 2KOs) facing Marino Cañete (0-3), both of Tijuana, while Ensenada welterweight Carlos Ocampo (3-0, 2KOs) takes on Rodolfo Manriquez (0-3) of Tijuana.
