Froch a slight favorite to beat Groves again in May return meeting

By James Slater

WBA/IBF super-middleweight ruler Carl Froch was the betting favorite to defeat George Groves going into their first meeting back in November, and “The Cobra” is a slight favorite to defeat Groves again when they meet on May 31st at Wembley. Froch had an incredibly tough fight on his hands in November, coming out on top via a controversial/premature 9th-round TKO. And Groves is talking big going into the rematch, claming he will stop Froch this time around. Still, Ladbrokes have Froch as a repeat winner with the following odds currently available:

Froch 8/13 (-163)
Groves 11/8 (+138)
Froch by KO, TKO or DQ 6/5 (+120)
Groves by KO, TKO or DQ 7/2 (+350)
Froch by decision 7/2 (+350)
Groves by decision 10/3 (+333)
Draw 25/1 (+2500)

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
