Carl Froch has warned Yusaf Mack that he will be in for a rough night in Nottingham as he challenges for Froch’s IBF super middleweight title on November 17. The Cobra met Mack for the first time in a press conference at the Arena where five months ago he ripped the IBF title from unbeaten Lucian Bute with a stunning fifth round stoppage. Froch has vowed to put thoughts of a rematch with the Canadian and a future bout with old foe Mikkel Kessler to one side as he prepares for his 15th contest in the Arena against the Philadelphian.
Carl Froch: After beating Lucian I feel like I’m back on top of the World. I’m in great shape, I’m running faster than ever. I am breaking records in training and I’m surprising myself, so at 35 I feel like I’m at my peak and that there’s plenty more to come. People have been asking me when I plan to hang the gloves up – a year, 18 months – I’m not going to out a time frame on it, as long as I have the desire to keep getting up and doing the hard training which I have, then I’m still going to be going. He’s coming over to the lion’s den and there’s only going to be one winner – I’ll do whatever I can to put Yusaf Mack on his back.
Yusaf Mack: I’m here to give a champion the fight of his life. Come fight night, its going down. I’m back at my preferred weight and I’m not coming to England to lay down.
