Light heavyweight Yusaf Mack (27-2-2, 16 KOs) won a twelve round split decision over former world title challenger Chris Henry (23-2, 18 KOs) on Friday night at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center in Salisbury, MD. Mack started strongly, but the naturally bigger Henry was stronger down the stretch until a twelfth round rally by Mack. Scores were 116-112, 115-112 for Mack, 115-113 for Henry.
In a good action fight, undefeated local middleweight favorite Fernando Guerrero (13-0, 11 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Gabriel “King” Rosado (10-3, 6 KOs). Rosado scored a flash knockdown in round three, but the harder punching Guerrero mostly outworked his gutsy opponent. Scores were 76-75, 77-74, 77-74.
Unbeaten middleweight Shawn Porter (5-0, 4 KOs) dropped Cory Jones (4-4, 1 KO) twice in round one, but was forced to go the four round distance for the first time. Jones was deducted a point for holding in round four. Scores were 40-33, 39-35, 40-33.
In off-TV bouts, light heavyweight Farah Ennis (9-0, 4 KOs) outpointed Chris Archer (10-6, 6 KOs) over four by scores of 40-36 on all cards, and junior welterweight Harrison Cuello (16-8-2, 13 KOs) scored a fourth round TKO over Daniel Gonzalez (9-22-2, 3 KOs). Time was 1:32.
