In a good local match-up Ludumo Galada will meet the more experienced Takalani Ndlovu in defence of his World Boxing Foundation featherweight belt at the Orient Theatre in East London on Friday January 23. Galada 16-0; 8 who won the WBF belt in August last year when he stopped the experienced David Kiilu looked most impassive in his first defence against the capable Pedro Navarrete, but the odds will be stacked against him when takes on the former SA featherweight and IBO junior featherweight champion Ndlovu 28-5; 18 The 31-year-old Ndlovu has fought at a much higher level than Galada, 26, a former Olympian and will go into this fight as the overwhelming favourite. Ndlovu who has lost two of his last three fights will be hoping to get his career back on track and challenge for one of the major belts. The promoter will be Koko Godlo of KK Productions.

Meanwhile it has been announced that three Boxing SA board members, Sakhiwo Sodo, Mxolisi Tsika and Vulani Baloyi have resigned. Sodo and Tsika are from Eastern Cape and Baloyi is from Limpopo.
