Ganoy, Kimweri, Fleming victorious

Australian based Filipino junior welterweight Ranee Ganoy (32-11-2, 28 KOs) dominated Roy Tua Manihuruk (13-7-2, 11 KOs) over eight rounds at the Sunshine Roller Skating Centre in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on Friday. Scores were 78-74, 79-72, 78-73. Ganoy, who is rated Australia’s best pound for pound puncher and trained by Graham Shaw, staggered the Indonesian several times but was forced to go the distance. Manihuruk recently took IBF rated welterweight Noufel Ben Rabah the distance in April. Ganoy stopped Manihuruk in three rounds in 2009.

WBO #15 mini flyweight Omari “Lion Boy” Kimweri (11-2, 4 KOs) dropped Lookrak Kiatmungmee (7-4, 4 KOs) in round one but he survived to go the eight round distance and lose by scores of 79-74, 79-72, 78-74. Australian based Tanzanian Kimweri, 4’11″ controlled the action in most of the rounds against the tough Thai.

Hot Aussie junior lightweight prospect Paul “2 Gunz” Fleming (13-0, 9 KOs) stopped Petchthongchal Sirimongkolgym (5-3, 2 KOs) at 2:06 of round two in a scheduled eight round bout. Fleming outclassed his opponent. Fleming is managed by Cameron Dunkin of Top Rank and trained by Billy Hussein who trains IBF featherweight champion Billy Dib. Fleming represented Australia at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and finished with a 83-17 amateur career.

Aussie light heavyweight Jay Sims (3-4-1) stopped Moses Ioelu (3-24) in three rounds of a scheduled six. Ioelu suffered a fractured hand.

Skillful 130 pounder Billel Dib (6-0, 3 KOs) outscored Manopnoi Singmanasak (5-7, 2 KOs) 40-36, 40-36, 40-35 of a four round bout.
