Garay, Brähmer speak!

WBA Light Heavyweight Champion Hugo Garay: “I’ve had two bad experiences with fights in Germany. Therefore, I prepared even more intensively and decided to fight with my heart. Now I would like a title unification and to get revenge against Zsolt Erdei.
Challenger Jürgen Brähmer: I didn’t properly use my mobility. He imposed his tactics on me. That was very clever. Already in the first three rounds I didn’t fight how we really wanted to fight. I wanted to fight, but that’s not really my boxing style. I really counted too much on catchng him with something hard. But the experience of such a fight is very important for me. I will learn from it. We must take these fights to get to the top and that’s what I want. I started boxing to become a world champion and not only European champion. so I will continue to work on this dream. And I will do it. That I am sure. I can still be better. I noticed this in training. If I go on working hard, I get quickly get where I want to be.

Promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl: Jürgen had been very well prepared. It was a great fight, exciting until the last minute. He lost against the best Garay that I have ever seen. The punch output of Hugo was incredible. Sometimes you may lose, but Jürgen nevertheless convinced me today. I am now even more sure he wil become world champion. I know from today what he has accomplished and what he can accomplish. He needs to get more experience at light heavyweight. It will still take some time. Remember, Garay needed three times.

Brähmer trainer Michael Timm: Garay came as a world champion, so to me it was no surprise that he was so strong. Winning the title has apparently made him even a little bit stronger. He marched forward for twelve rounds. It was difficult for Jürgen to resist this pressure. He completely broke Jürgen’s tactic.

World champion Ina Menzer: Adriana showed true heart, just as I had expected from her. It was not easy to fight against her. I’m glad that I could handle the task and boxing so late at night was new for me. I must have changed my whole biorhythms. It was also difficult for me when my trainer Michael Timm came into the locker room after Jürgen’s defeat, but he was best-humored and fully concentrated. That calmed me down. Thank you Timmi!

Challenger Adriana Salles: Ina boxed like a world champion. Very strong and with perfect mobility. I couldn’t do much damage against her. I’m very disappointed. Ina, I wish you good luck for the future.

Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.
