David “Flecha” Gaspar of Tijuana, Mexico, by way of Long Beach, CA, will be defending his WBA FEDECARIBE super flyweight title for the first time Saturday, June 27th in Nicaragua. Gaspar (10-1-1, 7 KOs) will be facing native Nicaraguan Juan Centeno (15-13, 8 KOs) in a fight card promoted by Erik Morales’ Box Latino and Pinolero Boxing and broadcast by Cadena Tes in Mexico. Gaspar is coming off a TKO over former world champion Isaac Bustos while Centeno has faced the more experienced opposition in his career such as Jorge “Travieso” Arce. Gaspar, who in his short career has become a favorite of the border town of Tijuana, where he has performed for the majority of his career, captured the title late last year by defeating Pancho Reyes in Loreto, Mexico.
