Gavronski Headlines May 18

By Sam DiTusa

Middleweight prospect Mike Gavronski headlines on May 18th as Roy Englebrecht Promotions presents its second installment of “Fight Club Northwest” at the Little Creek Casino & Resort in Shelton, Washington. Gavronski (11-0-1, 8 KOs) faces Tyrone Selders (8-5, 5 KOs) in the scheduled main event. Gavronski has been racking up wins in Washington and his adopted home of Chicago in the past year and he sees this fight as a real barometer in his progress.

“I’ve watched Selders on tape and he is a very good, solid fighter who combines speed, slickness and power,” said Gavronski. “I believe we’ve prepared well for this fight and I’m looking forward to getting back in the ring.”

Also slated for action will be local super middleweight Eddie Hunter against California’s Lashon Sims in what promises to be an all out war between two free swinging power punchers.

The card is rounded out with fan favorite Eric Dahlberg (1-0), and pro debuting 4-time Golden Gloves champ Marquise Weston.

Tickets are on sale at the casino box office, by calling (800) 667-7711, or online at The doors open at 6 PM, the action starts at 7. See you at the fights.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
