GBP seeking new foe for Alvarez

After to the terrible and tragic motorcycle accident that has likely ended the career of former two-division world champion Paul Williams, Golden Boy Promotions is forced to go back to the drawing board to find a new opponent for WBC super welterweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez for the big September 15 event at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. A source has informed Fightnews.com that the leading candidates are James Kirkland and Austin Trout, who is scheduled to defend his WBA jr middleweight crown Saturday against Delvin Rodriguez.
