IBF #7, WBO #10, WBC #14 middleweight Daniel Geale (22-1, 13 KOs) will clash with Kariz Kariuki (21-8-2, 18 KOs) over twelve rounds at the Wollongong Entertainment Center in Wollongong, NSW, Australia on June 2nd. Geale looked impressive in sparring sessions with the classy 154-pounder Robert Medley (27-3, 17 KOs) who will also be in action on the June 2nd card.

Geale said, “I am looking forward to the bout with Kariuki in June. He has been a world rated boxer who has been in the ring with several good middleweights and super middleweights but I am confident of victory. My trainer Graham Shaw has prepared me well with solid sparring sessions with Shannan Taylor and Rob Medley. I have my sights on the IBF middleweight crown held by Sebastian Sylvester. The German defends the world title in June against Roman Karmazin. No disrespect – but it doesn’t matter to me who wins the Sylvester vs Karmazin fight because I know when my opportunity comes I would win against either of them.”

Also appearing on the June 2nd card will be two time world challenger Shannan Taylor (49-8-3, 35 KOs) who will punch it out with Australian middleweight contender Ben Costello. Taylor stated, “I have been training at the Grange gym with Graham Shaw for 12 weeks and I am in better shape now then when I took Arthur Abraham twelve rounds in the world middleweight title bout. Regular sparring with Daniel Geale has me in fantastic fight condition.”

Promoter: Bill Treacy of the Grange Gym. Televised throughout Australia on Main Event Pay-Per-View Television.
