Gesta demolishes Trazancos

Photos by Laura De la Torre

Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta (21-0-1, 11 KOs) lived up to his nickname as he battered Genaro Trazancos (22-14-1, 13 KOs) for three rounds on Friday night at the Longshoreman’s Hall in San Francisco, California. The bout was stopped on the advice of the ring doctor between rounds three and four after Trazancos somehow survived Gesta’s brutal assault in round three.

Unbeaten junior lightweight Eloy Perez (20-0, 5 KOs) was too quick for veteran Roger “Speedy” Gonzalez (27-4, 18 KOs), winning a shutout eight round unanimous decision by scores of 80-72 on all cards.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
