After his great performance against Alfredo Angulo, twenty-year old Jorge “Pantera” Silva (19-3-2, 15KOs) of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, has been tapped by Golden Boy Promotions and asked to travel to Los Angeles, CA, to sign an exclusive promotional company with Oscar De La Hoya’s company. Despite being a losing effort, Silva, who usually campaigns in between 140-147 lbs., fought valiantly and took everything that Angulo dished out and even seemed to hurt the former interim WBO super welterweight champion last December 15th at the Staples Center on the undercard of Khan-Molina. Silva will return to the ring in March, more than likely in the United States and in his natural weight division of 140 lbs.
