In a shocker, unheralded journeyman super bantamweight Sergio Gomez (14-5, 9 KOs) scored a fourth round stoppage of former two-time IBF world champion Luis Perez (25-4, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at the Polideportivo Espana in Managua, Nicaragua. Gomez took the fight to Perez and the bout was stopped due to a cut suffered by Perez over his left eye. Perez was coming back after a one year layoff.
