In a battle between undefeated middleweight prospects , Sacramento’s Brandon Gonzales will have hometown backing when he faces James Parison of San Diego in the main event of a July 24 boxing card at the Red Lion Hotel in Sacramento, California. Gonzales (8-0) posted his seventh knockout victory last month, a first-round stoppage.. Parison (11-0, 3 KOs) hasn’t fought since a decision win last June. Both are former high-ranking amateur fighters who are stepping up to 10-round status for the first time. Their fight could be scheduled for 12 rounds if promoters Nasser Niavaroni and Jeff Berger gain sanction for a vacant U.S. title fight.
