Gonzales Remains Flawless

Sacramento super middleweight prospect Brandon “Flawless” Gonzales (9-0, 8 KOs) remained undefeated by defeating the usually durable Victor Villereal (8-5-2, 4 KOs) by TKO in the fourth round on Friday night at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. Gonzales worked behind a sharp jab and floored Villereal in the first round. Gonzales was cut by an accidental headbutt in the second round, however continued throwing sharp combinations. In the fourth round Gonzales floored Villereal again, then in the final minute of the round hurt Villereal against the ropes and the referee stopped the fight at 2:55.

Local favorite Derek Hinkey (8-2, 7 KOs) dropped a six round split decision to 20-year-old Paul Mendez (3-1, 0 KOs), the scores were 57-56, 58-56 for Mendez and 57-56 for Hinkey in what was the fight of the night.
