The fighters are in town and everything is ready to go for the “Boxeo TELEMUNDO” show of this Friday, April 30 at the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming in Miami, FL. In the main event WBO Latin champion, William “Chirizo” Gonzalez of Managua, Nicaragua will face Jose Luis “Tapitas” Araiza of Tecate, BC, Mexico in a bout scheduled for 12 rounds with Gonzalez’ WBO Latin bantamweight title at stake. Gonzalez is ranked #8 WBA, #8 WB0 and #11 WBC, is 28-years-old and brings a record of (24-3, 20 KOs). Araiza on the other hand is the former WBA FEECENTRO champion, currently ranked #15 WBO, is 31-years-old and brings an excellent record of (31-1, 22 KOs). The winner of this bout between ranked contenders will propel to a world title opportunity.
Also on the card in separate bouts John Jackson (5-0, 5 KOs) 2008 Beijing Olympian and son of former world champion Julian Jackson, Michael Oliveira (11-0, 9 KOs) undefeated prospect of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Sherali Dostiev (5-0, 2 KOs) 2008 Beijing Olympian and local idol Xavier “X-Factor” Burgos (3-0, 1 KO) amongst others.
A total of nine fights are schedule with the first bell at 8:30 PM. The event is being promoted by Tuto Zabala, Jr.and All Star Boxing, Inc. “The New Generation”. The main event will be televised live at 11:35 PM by the Telemundo Network on HD.
