For the second time in as many trips to Quebec Canada, Allan Green (31-4 21KO) was well over the contracted weight after stepping off the scales. Green, a former super-middleweight world title challenger and Super-six participant tipped the scale at 178.7 pounds, well above the contracted weight of 175. Renan St-Juste (23-3-1 15KO) who has fought most of his career as a middleweight before a North American title win in 2010 got him a ranking at 168 came in at 172.2 pounds.
“You can see he has no respect,” St-Juste told FightNews shortly after getting off the scales. “You sign a contract, you should respect it. I don’t know if he wants to fight again, but that’s not really my problem. My problem is to be serious on my side and fight him and beat him.”
Green towered above St-Juste by at least six inches as the two combatants squared off and had his best game on before St-Juste tried his best to make up the height differential by going up on his tip-toes. The gesture had both fighters laughing along with the huge contingent of media and fans on hand to witness the event.
