While waiting for his production meeting earlier this week, two-time world champion Danny “Green Machine” Green (26-3, 23 KOs) showed photographer Tom Casino that he is relaxed and ready to take on South American light heavyweight title-holder Julio Cesar “La Furia” Dominguez (20-4-1, 14 KOs) for the vacant IBO cruiserweight crown this Saturday! “I was getting ready to take Danny’s headshot and right before I shoot the photo he puts on these crazy glasses and makes an insane face,” said Casino. “I bet he wears those glasses Saturday to stare down Dominguez!”

The Green vs. Dominguez is the televised co-feature of the “Hook City” pay-per-view show, which is headlined by two of the best left-hook punchers in boxing, eight-time world champion Roy “Captain Hook” Jones, Jr. (53-5, 39 KOs) and former two-time super middleweight title-holder Jeff “Left Hook” Lacy (25-2, 17 KOs).

Also on the PPV telecast is undefeated NABO cruiserweight champion BJ “El Peligroso” Flores (23-0-1, 14 KOs) defending his belt against former world title challenger Epifanio “Diamente” Mendoza (29-7-1, 25 KOs), in addition to lightweight prospect Verquan “The Show” Kimbrough (21-1-2, 7 KOs) facing former world title challenger Jason “American Boy” Litzau (24-2, 20 KOs).

“Hook City” begins at 9pm ET/6pm PT and is available on cable plus satellite via iNDemand, TVN, DirecTV, Dish Network and the Super Channel in Canada. “Hook City” is presented by Square Ring Promotions in association with Left Hook Promotions and Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.

For 18 years, Fightnews.com® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
