Guerrero headed to WBC HQ

WBC interim world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero has been invited to WBC Headquarters in Mexico City to receive his WBC championship belt. The Ghost will meet with WBC President Jose Sulaiman and WBC Executive Secretary Mauricio Sulaiman on Tuesday. “It’s a great honor to be present in Mexico City with the Sulaiman family and receive my hard earned WBC championship belt,” said Guerrero. “I’ve always envisioned myself becoming the WBC champion and I plan to represent the WBC and Golden Boy Promotions with pride.” Last month, Guerrero moved up two weight classes and defeated previously undefeated #1 contender Selcuk Aydin (23-1, 17 KOs), making him the WBC’s mandatory challenger to face Floyd Mayweather Jr.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
