CONFIRMED: Guillermo Jones tests positive again

By Gabriel F. Cordero

Panamanian WBA cruiserweight champion in recess Guillermo Jones has again tested positive for the substance Furosemide. Jones’ “A” sample tested positive in anti doping results from a neutral lab, Swiss Laboratory for Doping Analyses (LAD). In a few hours, Jones is scheduled to face WBA regular world champion Dennis Lebedev in Moscow. They are now meeting to discuss the situation. The fight may go on as a non-title bout. Jones was stripped of the WBA title after their first fight after testing positive for the SAME banned substance.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
