Guillermo Rigondeaux update; Payano-Parejo fight to land in the US?; Kameda-Solis to unify IBF & WBA world titles in Japan?

By Gabriel F. Cordero

A source has confirmed that Cuban WBA/WBO super bantamweight world champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (12-0, 8 KOs) may be back in the ring in December against an opponent to be determined. The fight will likely land in Miami and be televised by HBO.

We’ve also been informed that there is a possibility that Venezuelan Yonfrez Parejo (14-1-1, 6 KOs) and Dominican Juan Carlos Payano (14-0, 8 KOs) could fight for the vacant interim WBA bantamweight title in Miami on November 1.

Finally we’ve been told that a fight between Venezuelan WBA “regular” super flyweight world champion Liborio Solis (15-3-1, 7 KOs) and Japanese IBF super flyweight world champion Daiki Kameda (28-3 18 KOs) is being discussed for December 3 in Japan.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.
