Gym named for late Jose Torres

The WBO and their president Francisco ‘Paco’ Valcarcel in collaboration with the Municipal of Patillas and Golden Boy Promotions  have announced that the inauguration of a Gymnasium  Jose “Chegui” Torres, in honor of the late former light heavyweight world champion of Puerto Rico and will take place Monday November 30th at 11AM in Patillas in Puerto Rico. Torres passed away at the age of 72 on January 19th in Ponce, Puerto Rico. In attendance will be WBO super bantamweight champion Juan Manuel ‘Juanma’ Lopez, WBO super featherweight champion Ramon ‘Rocky’ Martinez and former world champions Felix ‘Tito’ Trinidad, Alex ‘Nene’ Sanchez, Alfredo ‘El Salsero’ Escalera, Víctor ‘Luvi’ Callejas, Ángel ‘Cholo’ Espada, Julián ‘La Mosca’ Solís, Samuel Serrano, and contender Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. Promoters to attend will be Ivan & Peter Rivera of PR Best Boxing, Sampson Lewkowicz and Felix ‘Tutico’ Zabala (All Star Boxing).
