Hammer hammers Williams

Heavyweight Christian Hammer (12-3, 8 KOs) scored a fourth round TKO over 39-year-old former Mike Tyson-conqueror Danny Williams (44-13, 22 KOs) on Friday night at the Sparkassen Arena in Goettingen, Germany. Hammer floored Williams with a right hand in round one and dominated the fight until he finished Williams in round four with a barrage of unanswered punches. Time was 1:57. Hammer wins the WBO Europa belt.

Super middleweight Geard Ajetovic (20-7-1, 10 KOs) punished Chris Mafuta (11-3, 6 KOs) until the bout was stopped in round four. Ajetovic claimed the vacant WBO Europa belt.

Unbeaten heavyweight Sanel Papic (14-0, 11 KOs) needed just 33 seconds to destroy Laszlo Toth (17-8, 12 KOs) in round one.

Middleweight Goekalp Oezekler (14-1, 6 KOs) won a close ten round unanimous decision over Albert Ayrapetyan (20-3, 9 KOs). Ayrapetyan returned to the ring this year after losing to Sergio Martinez in 2005 and taking seven years off and probably deserved at least a draw if not an outright win.
