Happy Birthday Floyd Mayweather

Superstar Floyd “Money” Mayweather is 35 this Friday. The undefeated Mayweather (41-0, 25 KOs) – a seven-time world champion in five weight divisions – remains boxing’s biggest attraction, wowing crowds and generating record pay-per-view numbers each time he steps into the ring. During his extraordinary career, he has amassed wins over world champions such as Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo, Arturo Gatti, Zab Judah, Oscar de la Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley and – in his last fight – he captured the WBC welterweight title from then-champion Victor Ortiz!

Mayweather returns to the ring May 5th as he steps up in weight to challenge three-division world champion Miguel Cotto for his WBA super welterweight world title in what will be a gargantuan showdown between two future Hall of Famers.

FightNews wishes you a Happy Birthday Floyd!

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
