Haro, Rolls extend unbeaten records

Friday night at the Ogden, Utah, Marriott Hotel Ballroom, undefeated West Jordan, Utah super-featherweight Jose Haro moved to 7-0 with a six-round decision over journeyman Juan Jaramillo, of Keziah, Ore. Haro’s movement and hand speed gave him a close edge in every round against the plodding Jaramillo 8-12-2, who attempted cut off the ring.

In the co-feature, undefeated Steve Rolls, a super-middleweight from Toronto, Canada, moved to 4-0 by stopping Simon Rucalvaba, South Lake Tahoe, Calif., in the fourth round. Rolls used a strong body attack to wear down Ruvalcaba 4-11-2.

In other bouts, lightweight Duran Caferro, Helena, Mont., (5-1) stopped Joey Ruquert, 1-1, Las Vegas, in 63 seconds, Ogden cruiserweight Freddie Martinez, 1-3-1, stopped Dru Dravis, 0-1-1, Las Vegas, in round 3, Miguel Flores, 1-0, of Twin Falls, Idaho, won a majority four-round decision over Logan, Utah’s Christian Nava, 2-3-1, and Clearfield, Utah, heavyweight Gary Cobia, 1-3, stopped Ogden’s Charles Presnell, 1-4, at 45 seconds of round 2. The card, before a large crowd, was put on by CCC Promotions, which plans to headline Haro again in the future.
