Harold Moore, former professional middleweight from Philadelphia, who also served as matchmaker for Peltz Boxing Promotions, Inc., in the 1980s and 1990s, passed away today after a long illness. Mr. Moore was 77. As a pro, Moore compiled a modest 3-5-2 record, but was better known as a top-notch matchmaker. Mr. Moore stayed in shape his entire life, working out at the gyms through the 1970s. In addition to working with Peltz, Moore also worked closely with Ron Katz in the 1980s when Katz was East Coast matchmaker for Top Rank. He also worked with several promoters in the Baltimore-area in the 1990s.
