“There’s no doubt about it I was robbed this weekend,” said IBF #13 heavyweight Maurice Harris (25-16-2, 11 KOs) after his controversial decision loss to undefeated local favorite and hometown hero Edmund Gerber (20-0, 13 KOs) on Saturday in Erfurt, Germany. The scorecards read 78-74 and 79-73 twice, all in favor of Gerber. “Gerber landed maybe five punches the entire fight,” continued Harris. “I was too slick for him and he couldn’t touch me. I landed more punches and everyone who saw the fight knew I should have won. Like everyone says, if you fight overseas, you better get the knockout, because the judges are going to favor the hometown guy. I would love to fight Gerber here in America, but I don’t think it will happen because he knows deep down inside his mind that he lost to me already. I’ll be back soon.”
