Undefeated DC welterweight Dusty Harrison will headline a boxing card at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) Sports Complex on Saturday, May 18. EPIX is a sponsor of the card, called “Champion Class”, but it has no plans to televise the event as of now.

The fact that the card is being held at UDC marks a special significance because Harrison, who will turn 19 three days after this card, will begin studies at the university in June. No word yet on the opponent for Harrison (14-0, eight KO’s) who won a six-round unanimous decision over Jonathan Garcia.

One bout that has already been signed for the card marks the return of Upper Marlboro, MD heavyweight “Big” Phill Brown as he takes on undefeated Natu “The Truth” Visinia of Lakewood, CA. This will be the first bout for Brown (6-1, three KO’s) since May 31, 2007 when he lost a six-round majority decision to Mike Sheppard in Glen Burnie, MD. Visinia (8-0, seven KO’s) makes his return after an almost two-year absence. Visinia scored a fourth-round TKO over Kourtney Boden on May 31, 2011 in Santa Monica, CA.

A number of undefeated Beltway Boxing prospects are slated to compete on the card including Kevin “K-Smoov” Rivers, Jr., Mike “Yes, Indeed” Reed, Gervonta “Rambo” Davis, Devar “The Warrior” Ferhadi, Greg Newby and the debuting Yurii Polischuk.

The card is being promoted by All-In Entertainment, a company founded by Washington, DC attorney and entrepreneur Jeff Fried along with legendary poker player Phil Ivey and Monta Ellis of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
