Harrison vs Brewer Tops Detroit Card

By Bob Ryder

Kaltsas Productions (George & John Kaltsas) return to the Masonic Temple on Friday, February 7 as they present “Showdown For Motown III”. Headlining the show is Detroit’s own junior middleweight Tony Harrison as he takes on veteran Grady Brewer. Brewer, although certainly on the downside of his career, figures to provide solid opposition for the young Harrison. Harrison has scored easy early round KO’s in his last two outings for Kaltsas Boxing but Brewer looks to give Tony a more difficult test in this eight round main event.

Matchmaker Carlos Llinas is still working to round out the undercard but has Motor City’s Marlon Thomas slated to face Dante Moore of Cleveland in one of the other feature contests. Locals Dewyane Zeigler, Leo Hall, Anthony Barnes, Anthony Gallerani, James Smith, Ronnie Austion, Dorell Van Horn Jr, Jafar Kirtley, Ed Williams, and Mike Portillo are all tentatively scheduled versus opponents TBD.

Tickets at $30 for General Admission or $100 for VIP table seating are available at The Masonic Temple Box Office or at Doors open at 6 PM, with first bell at 7:30.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
