Hasegawa to return Dec 17

By Joe Koizumi

Having been dethroned by Jhonny Gonzalez via TKO route last April, ex-WBC feather and bantam champ Hozumi Hasegawa (29-4, 12 KOs), a Japanese southpaw speedster, will return to the ring warfare when he faces unbeaten Mexican Felipe Carlos Felix (18-0, 10 KOs) in Kobe, Japan, on December 17. It was announced by his manager/promoter/trainer Masato Yamashita. Hasegawa, 30, says, “I wish to enjoy fighting again by showing my own performance.” Also, his stablemate Yoshihito Ishizaki will cope with world-rated super-fly Johnny Garcia of Mexico on the undercard.

For 18 years, Fightnews.com® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
