Hernandez breaks hand, title defense off

IBF cruiserweight champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez (27-1, 13 KOs) broke his left hand during sparring in training camp in Kienbaum and has pulled out of his title defense on February 2 against Oklahoman Eric Fields (21-1, 15 KOs). The event in Berlin’s Max-Schmeling-Halle, will go on as scheduled with the main event featuring Eduard Gutknecht (24-1, 9 KOs) and Brähmer (38-2, 30 KOs) in an all-German duel for the Euro light heavyweight championship.
