Heavyweight Eugene Hill avenged the only loss of his career when he outpointed Zack Page via eight-round split decision at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Downtown, Houston. Tipping the scales at 255, Hill, (17-1, 14 KOs), spent the entire night plodding after an elusive and nimble-footed Page, (18-24-2, 6 KOs), who weighed 47 pounds less than Hill. Scores were 77-75 twice for Hill and 77-75 for Page. The event was the promotional debut of former heavyweight contender Lou Savarese.
In other fights, light middleweight Chase Shields (28-2-1, 14 KOs) flattened Cliff English, (10-4, 7 KOs), with a single right to the jaw after five rounds that saw as much trash talking as boxing.
Light heavyweight Terrence Woods, (6-0, 4 KOs), scored two first-round knockdowns en route to a four round decision over Anthony Greely (7-32-1, 1 KO).
Southpaw lightweight Chris Hernandez, (3-1, 3 KOs), had his perfect record snapped by Mike Wagendlast (1-0, 1 KO). Wagendlast dropped Hernandez at the end of the second round with a sneaky right and Hernandez was unable to answer the bell for the third round.
Female lightweights Tiffany Junot (6-2-1, 2 KOs) and Kimberly Ann Conner (4-1-1, 2 KOs), fought to an entertaining six-round draw.
Heavyweight Steve Collins (20-1, 15 KOs), scored a lacklusture four-round decision over Dennis Mckinney (28-48-1, 14 KOs).
