Heavyweight Timo Hoffmann (38-7-1, 22 KOs) will return to the ring under the stars on Friday night in Aschersleben, Germany. After a year off, The 35-year-old “German Oak” will take on 22-year-old Harry Duiven Jr. (14-6-1,12 KOs) in a ten rounder in the unusual setting of an open-air arena at the famed Aschersleben State Garden Show. “My mission is not yet fulfilled,” said Hoffman. “I want to want to be in the mix at the very top.”
He added, “There can be no better venue than Aschersleben. This is almost in front of my house, and I have never been in the ring so close to my home fans.”
The card will also feature an interesting ten round female super featherweight clash between WIBF world champion Ramona Kuehne (15-1, 4 KOs) and Maribel Santana (10-8-1, 4 KOs). In addition to Kuehne’s WIBF belt, the vacant WBO and WBF titles will also be on the line.
“Santana can fight,” stated Kuehne. “She has repeatedly proven that. I’ll have to be careful. But this fight is also about my ambitions. I’ll be looking for a decision, and possibly an early victory.”
The card will be promoted by SES Boxing.
