Tonight at the Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M.: Defending her WIBA welterweight title, Holly Holm (25-1-3, 7 KOs) pitched a near-shutout decision over outclassed Terri Blair (11-14-2, 6 KOs). Following Holm around the ring and unable to open up, Blair was on the receiving end of a variety of shots throughout the fight. Scorecards read 100-90 twice, and 99-91. In the co-main, former Las Vegas contender Frankie Archuleta (26-7-1, 14 KOs) had a difficult time winning a unanimous decision over gutsy Las Crucen Lorenzo Estrada (3-15-1, 1 KO). Scores were 77-75 and 78-74 twice. Blown-up lightweight Arturo Crespin (3-1, 1 KO) ran out of gas again, but was able to pull off a decision over jr. middleweight Freddy Cisneros (1-1-1). Scores were 40-36 twice and 39-37. In a sixer at jr. middle, Lucas Galle (6-4) outboxed Jermiah Torres (7-16, 1 KO), with scores of 59-55, 58-56 and, somehow, 56-58. In the opener, Las Vegas’ Amanda Crespin (0-1) lost her pro debut to the more aggressive Nohime Dennison (1-0), who edged her out with scores of 38-38, 40-36 and 39-37. Stay tuned for a full report tomorrow. — Chris Cozzone
