Holm returns Jan. 23

Holly Holm (22-1-3, 6 KOs) will return to Albuquerque to headline a title fight on a card Jan. 23 from the Isleta Resort & Casino. The Fresquez Productions card will pit Holm against former champ Myriam Lamare (16-2, 9 KOs), of Marseille, France, in a WIBA welterweight title fight. In the co-main, Bloomfield’s Joe Gomez (15-1-1, 7 KOs) vs. TBA, in an eight-rounder at welter; Albuquerque welter Josh “Pitbull” Torres (2-1, 1 KO) goes four with El Paso’s Cornelius “Hard Times” Shuler (1-2); Albuquerque middleweight Carlos Sanchez (1-0) goes four with debuter Mike Rodriguez, also of the Duke City; and in the opener, Albuquerque bantam debuters Raymond Montes and Guillermo Alvarez will go four.
