IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins and top rated light heavyweight contender Karo Murat hosted an international media conference call to discuss their upcoming world championship bout taking place on October 26 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ live on SHOWTIME.
Bernard Hopkins: I’m looking forward for next Saturday to again add another page to this long book
When you’re young you’re trying to find excuses why a 40 year old guy shouldn’t beat you, and when you get in the ring and realize you’re in the ring with me and you see that it isn’t as easy as you might see, that’s the ultimate shock and surprise that always will catch a person who is not prepared off guard
He’s already in awe of Bernard Hopkins, he’s already lost 4 rounds
Karo Murat: He has to see the time is come, we again fighting again in Atlantic City, so it will be a good closing out for him to finally retire by the hands of mine
He has pretty much the experience that no other boxer has but you see that he is just trying to get one punch or a one-two combination out of it and then clinch and clinching is the state of his game
When he was the middleweight champion he didn’t do all that much clinching but now a days you see with the clinching and the one-two punch that he is growing old, he may just say that it is conditioning but I don’t think so
