Australian heavyweight champion John Hopoate has impressed in a eight round sparring session against former world heavyweight champion Lamon Brewster and is looking to upset Oliver McCall, the former WBC champion, when they clash next Saturday in Las Vegas. Hopoate’s trainer Dave Millward said. “Hoppa had a sparring session with Lamon Brewster yesterday. I am shaking with adrenalin after watching Hoppa against Brewster. It was eight quality rounds. I hate being overconfident but even Brewster said ‘Hey boy, you’ve got some power.’
