Horta upsets Byrne

French welterweight Frank Haroche Horta (27-8-5, 10 KOs) knocked Dean Byrne (15-1, 6 KOs) of Ireland from the list of unbeatens moments ago by way of 8th round TKO. The bout took place at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre, in Manchester, Lancashire, United Kingdom. Horta was originally slated to face unbeaten Olympian Frankie Gavin, but Gavin pulled out the day before the fight citing “personal problems,” infuriating promoter Frank Warren.
