Australian junior lightweight contender Clint Hosking (5-0, 2 KOs) outscored Filipino Flash Villacura (23-28-3, 12 KOs) in the main event over eight rounds at the Goldfields Oasis Recreation Centre in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia on Friday. Hosking rated #2 for the national title was impressive in defeating Villacura who has been in the ring with the best in Australia including IBF #7 Billy Dib, WBO #10 Daniel Iannazzo and Will Tomlinson.
Welterweight Michael Jones (1-0-1, 1 KO) boxed a crowd pleasing four round draw against Paco Gonzales (1-2-1, 1 KO). Cruiserweight Jae Bryce (1-0) won a four round decision over Peter Brennan (5-13-4, 1 KO). It was a great win for the New Zealander Bryce as Brennan had been in the ring twice with former WBA middleweight challenger Jamie Pittman and WBA #7 light heavyweight Tim Bell.
